Review: 2014 Clark GTX18 Electric Forklift Truck
Clark GTX18 Electric Forklift Truck: The Introduction
Visited a warehouse the other day and decided to make a review on the electric forklift truck that I was able to test drive during my stay. Basically, what impresses me about electric forklifts is the fact that they are more eco-friendly compared to their internal combustion-powered counterparts. Of course, since they just utilise batteries to power up, they don’t produce such poisonous chemicals and can even operate quietly, making them the best option for closed areas like stock rooms and warehouses. They are also engineered to have a longer life span; and when it comes to maintenance, they are more cost-saving. Now, moving on, let me start with my review of the 2014 GTX18 electric forklift truck from Clark.
Clark GTX18 Electric Forklift Truck: Key Features
Superb load and lift height capacity
When searching for the right forklift truck for your biz, the first thing that you have to determine is the maximum weight that it can lift and carry. If you’re running a distribution center with high volume of storing and stacking tasks, the GTX18 forklift is the ideal equipment to utilise since it can carry up to 1800kg of weight and can lift materials up 4780mm high. Its upright, meanwhile, is a three stage, making it great for high lift and free lift applications.
Versatile with a heavy duty motor
Though I mentioned earlier that electric forklifts work best in closed areas, this particular 3-wheel truck model from Clark can be utilised even for outdoor operations. Thanks to its superelastic tyres that provide utmost comfort and soft ride to operators. The forklift is also powered by 48V DC motors that deliver high performance and feature a deep cycle traction type of battery that comes with an external data memory charger.
Ergonomically-designed operator cabin
Entering the cab is not actually that challenging. In fact, frequent entry and exit to the forklift truck is easy and less hassle because of the cabin’s low step height and wide step. The suspension seat inside is fully adjustable with the steering column positioned greatly to give better and more spacious legroom for operators. There is also a rubber matting throughout the cab for a firm footing. Though what I enjoyed during my test drive is the fact that I was able to have full control over the equipment. Its hand controls are placed in a way that they can be easily accessed, and the foot controls follow an automotive layout as well.
Interactive LCD dash display
Clark is smart enough to incorporate a clear LCD display to the GTX18 dashboard. This innovative feature displays the important operating data in real-time. It is fully adjustable and programmable, and operators can even select from the four pre-set performance modes. The LCD dash display also have alarm codes and is password protected.
For safety, the 2014 Clark GTX18 got you covered. The forklift is fitted with a Clark Operator Safety Seat, and according to Clark Equipment Sales P/L, one of the trusted dealers that I saw online, this equipment is also CE certified and meets all the European safety standards for forklift trucks.
