The annual Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) Awards for Excellence is approaching fast, and the finalists, much like the rest of the material handling industry is already geared up for its most prestigious and biggest event that recognises some of the best lift trucks in the market. Now on its 23rd year, FLTA will once again hand out its iconic statuettes to its overall champions in categories that include Environment, Ergonomics, Safety, and Innovation.
Among the finalists in the Ergonomics category, is Yale’s MPT rider pallet truck series that is widely acknowledged for its adaptive seat design and excellent ergonomics. By combining the key benefits of the platform and seated models, the series has created a new class of truck, allowing operators the freedom to select their position at the touch of a button. It’s not the first time that Yale is part of the finalists, much like Toyota who will be represented by its BT Staxio, which is best characterised by its enhanced driver controls and compact chassis. The equipment also received a number of praises regarding its upgraded operating life and its adaptability to the industry’s most intensive scenarios.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi SENSiA Reach truck cold cabin range and N20 Picker round up the four standouts in its category. With each, showcasing an innovative and efficient design that best represent the material handling industry as it moves forward.
On the other hand, Ecobat’s VERTU System, Fronius’ Selective charging system, Hyster’s J8.0XN Lithium ION-powered electric forklift, and Toyota’s Traigo range make up the finalists for the most environmental-friendly machines in its class. For safety, one among Abbey Attachments’SafeLoad, Combilift SafeLift, Crown Lift’s WAV60 Work Assist Vehicle, and Doosan’s Electro-magnetic Automatic EPB are leading the way in terms of Safety. Finally, Abbey’s SafeLoad, B&B Attachment’s KAUP double Pallet Handler, Cavaion Baumann ELX50, and Combilift Combi-CS rounds up the equipment running for the top spot in terms of Innovation.
The FLTA will commence on the 4th of March.
