Crown Equipment Corporation, a leading material handling company in the world, recently achieved a milestone: 30 years of manufacturing lift trucks for the European as well as global markets in town of Roding, Germany. The Roding site, play a key role in the company’s success by providing a strategic location within the European market as well delivering the necessary workforce since 1986. During that year, it was first used as a production facility for single components and pallet trucks; after some time, it grew into a primary manufacturing location for Crown Equipment Corporation.
At present, it is able to produce a plethora of lift trucks, which include the popular GPC 3000 Series order pickers, innovative QuickPick® Remote order-picking system, and the award-winning ESR 5200 Series reach trucks
“In Roding, we have everything we need to meet the changing needs of our customers,” per Ken Dufford, vice president, Europe, Crown Equipment. “The location lies at the geographical heart of Europe. And, there is a highly qualified and motivated workforce available locally. Together, these are ideal prerequisites for further growth. As additional information, in 2014, Crown Equipment Corporation opened their second production plant in the mentioned location and this move further expanded their production capacity in Europe. According to reports, the lift trucks of the company are manufactured in their original facility and their final truck assembly procedures are performed in their newer production facility.
